ABOUT JANALEE
JanaLee is a multimedia artist, writer, and facilitator, who witnesses worlds as they are and dreams communities as they might be. She is also a scholar and changemaker who experiments across the humanities and social sciences.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, JanaLee’s way of relating to the word has been deeply formed by the sentience of Saskatchewan’s skies and ecologies. In all of her work, beings – be they plant, animal, or human, are invited in as co-creative, collaborators.
JanaLee is a proud graduate from the University of Saskatchewan (BA High Honours) and has a DPhil (PHD) from the University of Oxford. She has held teaching appointments at the University of Oxford, New York University, and Bard College.
JanaLee is a settler who currently resides in West Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Nation).
